Rider Updates

Dec 21 2008

Chelsea, MI. - MXThreads.com a new clothing company started in 2008 by Michigan native and motocross racer Dan Bloom, has recently signed Drew Mabee as its first MXsponsor.com sponsored athlete.  Over the past year, MXThreads.com has built its image on creativity and cutting-edge stlye, while still remaining deeply rooted in the sport of motocross.

"We're really excited to have Drew on board with us for 2009, he is solid rider and we look forward to developing a lasting business relationship for the future" added Bloom.

After only attending five rounds of the 2008 Scott USA Motocross Championships, Drew finished 6th overall in points in the MX1 Intermediate class.

"I am really excited to be a part of MXThreads.com for 2009, it's a fresh new clothing company that definitely embraces creativity and quality!  I've known owner Dan Bloom for the past few years and have enjoyed watching his company grow, and to finally be a part of it is just an added bonus!" says Mabee.

"My current plan is to race the last amateur round of the 2009 AMA Toyota Arenacross Series in Highland Heights, Kentucky.  Other then that I will just be doing some local arenacross and preparing for the 2009 outdoor season."  I have only logged one day of riding on my new race bike and am already feeling quite comfortable and up to speed.  For 2009 I will be contesting the Scott USA Motocross Series, where I hope to be a title contender in the MX1 Intermediate class, glorify God, and put my sponsors on top!" added Mabee.

About MXThreads:<

Sep 24 2008

2008 proved to be a sucessful year for me both spiritually and on the race track.  This season I truly grew in my relationship with God and began using motocross as a platform to glorify him!  The season began in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the 2008 Toyota AMA Arenacross series.  Unfortunately, I was involved in a "pile-up" and suffered a broken hand during my semi-qualifer race on Sunday in the Arenacross Intermediate division.  By the time my hand healed the arenacross season was over.  However, I came back for the outdoor season and raced multiple rounds of the 2008 Scott USA Motocross Championship Series in Ohio and am currently in 6th place in the MX1 Intermediate points standings!  For the month of October I am working hard to put together a program and acquire sponsors to compete under the Driven.By.Faith tent in the 2009 AMA Toyota Arenacross Series and the 2009 Scott USA Motocross Series.  Stay tuned for additional details!

Thanks to all those who made 2008 such a successful season: Driven.By.Faith, MXDonations.com, MSR MX, Cycra, Honda East Toledo, Alignedesigns, and my entire family!

This season has definitely been a tough one for me. I suffered a dislocated left shoulder Sunday August 26th while out practicing at a local track. I am doing physcal therapy and should be back on the bike in a few weeks. I will begin heavy preparation for some of the East coast rounds of AMA Toyota Arenacross Series where I plan to contest the 250 B Intermediate class on the Amateur Days. I would like to thank all of my sponsors for sticking by me throughout the season, it has been a rough road but I am looking to turn it all around beginning with the 2007 Arenacross series.

2007 has been a challenging year for me; but the challenges have truly brought out the best in my passion for motocross. The season started with me healing my broken left femur. After months of physical therapy and lots of dedication I made it back to the track in March. However, I came back a bit too soon and struggled for quite a few rides. At this point in the year I have had the opportunity to ride quite a few laps at tracks in California, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. I have not been able to race as much as I had originally hoped but allowing my leg time to fully heal was a wise decision, rather then rushing back to the races. At this point in the season - my fitness is strong, my speed is picking up, and my leg feels very close to 100%. I have decided to race a few more local outdoor races in the next few months before setting my sites on the AMA Toyota Arenacross series. It is there that I plan to contest many rounds on the East coast in the 250 B class (during the Sunday Amateur program). I have already began practicing on a local arenacross track and feel that arenacross truly suits my riding style! I will post updates as they develop. I would like to give a big thanks to MXDonations.com, MSR MX, Cycra, Fat Max Racing, and my family.

September 24th while practicing I broke my left femur. I had surgery done September 25th to repair my broken femur. I am currently working very hard in physical therapy to gain strength back as quickly as possible. I am very motivated and I am looking forward to getting back on the bike! I will post updates as they develop. I hope to start riding around the beginning of February of 2007.
